Vision & Mission


TorchLight Foundation is a non-profit organization and was founded in 2016 in Hong Kong and New York. The vision of TorchLight Foundation is to promote a deeper understanding of the U.S. and China, and communication and collaboration between the two countries from educational perspectives.




TorchLight Foundation participates in and organizes two programs: 'TorchLight China Internship Program' and 'U.S. - China Relations Conference'.





TorchLight China Internship Program



The TorchLight China Internship Program will be held annually from the summer of 2019. The program serves outstanding students studying at universities in the U.S. and industry-leading institutions in Greater China. A pilot Program has been successfully held in the summer of 2018.





Columbia U.S. - China Relations Conference



TorchLight Foundation initiated the first U.S. - China Relations Conference at Columbia University in 2017. The Conference is organized by students. In the previous two Conferences,  over 50 high-profile speakers from policy-making, business, and academic world were invited to discuss most important issues concerning U.S. - China Relations, and the Conference has recorded over 600 participants.



Past speakers include: Jeffrey Sachs, Special Adviser to United Nations Secretary-General; Rober Kopech, Former Vice President of World Bank; Pedro Nueno, Founder and Dean (Europe) of China Europe International Business School; Lanlan Zhang, CEO of CICC Securities (US) and Ebrahim Rahbari, Global Economist of Citigroup.

歷屆嘉賓包括:聯合國秘書長(三任)特別顧問Jeffrey Sachs、世界銀行前副行長 Robert Kopech、中歐國際商學院創始人兼歐方院長Pedro Nueno、中金證券(美國)CEO張嵐嵐、花旗集團全球經濟學家Ebrahim Rahbari等。
